Share
The row under an article. Few options, real labels, and a copy link that confirms it worked.

HTML
<div class="p234-share">
<span class="p234-share__label">Share</span>
<a class="p234-share__btn" href="#">WhatsApp</a>
<a class="p234-share__btn" href="#">X</a>
<a class="p234-share__btn" href="#">Facebook</a>
<button class="p234-share__btn" type="button">Copy link</button>
</div>Which channels
- WhatsApp first. It is how this audience actually forwards a story.
- Copy link always. It covers every channel you did not list.
- Four options at most.
- Do not ship a row of twelve network icons. Nobody uses the long tail, and it reads as clutter under a 147-word summary.
- Do not use bare logos with no text. A glyph alone is a guess, and the brand colours would fight the page.
Confirm the copy
Copy link has no visible result unless you give it one. Swap the label to "Copied" for about a second, and announce it in a live region so it is not a sighted-only confirmation.
Placement
Under the article body, above the tags, with a hairline above and below. Not floating beside the text, and never sticky on mobile: that space belongs to the article.
Accessibility
- Links that open a share window are links. Copy link is a button.
- Give each control a name that says where it goes, not just "Share".
- Keep every target at 44px.
